"Stamp Out Hunger" campaign nets a record 5,460 pounds of food!

U. S. Postal Service workers in Spearfish have again spearheaded the local "Stamp Out Hunger" campaign in our community -- and this year it was a huge success, more than doubling the amount of food collected last year for the Spearfish Community Food Pantry. And it's believed to be the most ever collected locally in the 22 year history of the campaign.  The items collected from postal patrons is distributed to needy neighbors in Spearfish and St. Onge.    More than 5,460 pounds of food was collected on Saturday, May 10th!  Shown here are a few of the many folks who helped collect and deliver the food.  Front to back on the left are postal workers Ben Williamson, Greg Kohl, Alan Hrdlicka, and Laura Young.  On the right (front-to-back) are pantry volunteers James Meyer, Elizabeth Meyer, Karen Miller, and Twila Suwyn.   More photos can be found in our Food Pantry Gallery.  Thanks to all folks who generously donated to this campaign!
