Mid-December 2013 was a very busy time around the Spearfish Community Food Pantry. Below are a few photos that reflect just a snippet of the activity that kept the pantry buzzing.
On Saturday, December 14th, hundreds of people stepped up to assist the Spearfish Community Food Pantry -- not the least of whom were the enormous numbers of Boy Scouts who spearheaded an annual drive that has become an important resource for the pantry. The 2,400 pounds of food they collected and delivered to the pantry came just on the cusp of the holidays -- one of our busiest times! Above, volunteers receive, weight, and sort the donated foods.
These lads and lassies from Creekside Elementary showed up at the pantry with a holiday surprise -- lots of food to benefit needy neighbors in the Spearfish and St. Onge communities. Our hats are off to the students, faculty and staff at Creekside. They've become a staunch supporter of the pantry!
