A big "Thank You" to the Spearfish Middle School for collecting and donating more than 600 food items -- along with $900 cash -- to the Spearfish Community Food Pantry in early November 2013.
"It was a wonderful thing, and the Middle School kids did a remarkable job," said pantry president Karen Miller. "We appreciate what they have done for the pantry and their community!" The money will go toward buying lower-cost foods from the Rapid City Food Bank or from the several local food stores that have provided continuing support to the pantry over the years.
"Helping needy neighbors in the Spearfish and St. Onge communities is a good thing, and we're glad to see these youngsters recognizing this -- and lending a hand," said Miller.
